VENICE IS THE CAPITAL OF ONE REGION IN THE NORTH OF ITALY.
The city is located on more than 100 small islands in the lagoon of the Adriatic Sea.
There are no roads at all, the movement takes place only along the canals. The busiest is the Grand Canal.
There are many Gothic and Renaissance palaces along it. St. Mark's Square is the main one in the city. Here is the Cathedral of St. Mark, decorated with Byzantine mosaics, as well as a bell tower overlooking the red roofs of the city houses.
